Indian Extravaganza 2018 : Celebration Of Indian Culture At Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University
Kaliningrad, Russia: It was a evening to remember where AKEC students dressed in traditional
Indian costumes gathered at the University concert hall to display the Indian culture in its
most extravagant way. The teachers and guests were welcomed with the gesture ” Atithi Devo
Bhava” for the celebration.
The program was inaugurated at the hands of Vice
Chancellor for International Affairs Dr.Kuksa. Dr.Kuksa thanked Dr.Amit Kamle and the Indian
students for arranging such a wonderful program which has become a part of Immanuel Kant
Baltic Federal University’s tradition now. The Dean of Medical Institute Dr.Korenev also
addressed the Indian students for their active participation and export of Indian culture in
Kaliningrad. He said,” Indian and Russian people are very open and share their culture with
everyone and hence there is cultural bonding between these two great nations.”
On
behalf of the students Dr.Amit Kamle said,” I am very obliged and privileged that Indian
students have been welcomed at IKBFU with warmth. The idea of supporting the cultural event
by the administration is always a step forward in cooperation. I thank the teachers, hostel
and University administration for their generous support.”
The program began with
the National Anthems of the Russian Federation and Republic of India. The students performed
Bharatnatyam, Tandav, foot tapping bollywood fusion dances, Garba, sang bollywood melodies,
fashion show where students were in sarees, kurtis, pyjamas, lehengas, maharashtraian pheta.
